OPPORTUNITY:

We were tasked with the launch of Hammer & Spear, a highly curated home goods store and multidisciplinary design studio in the LA Arts District. Founders Kristan Cunningham (HGTV’s "Design on a Dime") and husband Scott Jarrell enlisted our team to build buzz surrounding Hammer & Spear’s opening and drive traffic to the showroom.

RESPONSE:

We first secured an exclusive story with Urban Daddy, announcing the launch to the targeted audience and positioning Hammer & Spear as the go-to design destination for bespoke furnishings and accessories which celebrate unique, high- quality craftsmanship and artistry. Following the Urban Daddy exclusive story running, we sought coverage in key design and lifestyle outlets and brokered partnerships and produced events with synergistic brands in order to raise further awareness of Hammer & Spear.

RESULT:

Our team garnered extensive coverage for Hammer & Spear in key outlets including Architectural Digest, LA Confidential, Apartment Therapy, California Home & Design, LA Magazine, Travel & Leisure, LA Weekly, Remodelista, and Food & Wine, touting the brand as a more thoughtful, authentic alternative to big box furniture stores and even helped put LA’s Arts District on the map as a shopping destination.  Additionally, we leveraged Cunningham and Jarrell as lifestyle and design tastemakers and pioneers on the forefront of the DTLA renaissance.

Ongoing partnerships and events with like-minded brands including Kikori Whiskey and Saint Rita Parlor helped keep the buzz going long after the initial launch phase.
